The goals of Head of the Charles Umpire Committee are:

• Safe and Fair Regatta
• No Penalties Issued in Error
• All Penalties Observed and Recorded
• Issue Unofficial Results 15 Minutes After Race Conclusion
• Buoy Problems Adjusted Before Start of the Next Race
• Provide coaches and competitors with timely responses to inquiries.

To accomplish these goals, officials must be highly trained to make the correct decisions under pressure during the regatta. Our certification process and improved coordination with other committees will ensure we accomplish our goals.
